This was by far the most challenging cake yet, but also my favorite! It was for a 7th birthday party with an "Alice in Wonderland" theme. I wanted to incorporate the different characters and popular things from the story. The pot is blue for Alice's dress, the handle is for the Cheshire cat, the yellow crown, hearts, and rose are for the Queen of Hearts, and the bright colors to match the color scheme of the story. The cake is iced in buttercream, the flowers are royal icing (which turned out great and I can't wait to use it again!), and the handle and spout are made with rice crispy treats covered in fondant. I'm so happy the cake made it in one piece!
