Halloween Cupcakes (a little delayed)
Last Halloween I really wanted to try out some ideas from a book that my friend bought me (Hello, Cupcake!). There was no party or event, I just wanted to decorate! I made a variety of Gluten Free and non-Gluten Free cupcakes so that my Mom and I could enjoy the fun as well! I made Ghosts (which isn't in Hello, Cupcake!, but I used the idea of the penguin in the book and tried it out as a ghost). On top of the cupcake I stacked 2 marshmallows and then another marshmallow on top in the middle. I "glued" them together with a little icing and then dipped them in melted white chocolate. I stuck on some eyes and they were done! They were the sweetest cupcakes I've ever eaten, but the white chocolate was delicious!
The "Creepy Crawlers" were an idea from the book that worked perfectly! The book included templates for the bodies. I laid wax paper on top of the templates and with melted chocolate, I traced the templates. Before the chocolate hardened I placed the candies (skittles, M&Ms, mini M&Ms, and Peanut M&Ms) in place for their body parts. The chocolate hardened and they were ready to place on top of the cupcakes. They were a lot of fun to make and people had a good time eating them as well!
I can't wait to try more ideas from Hello, Cupcake!
