Ashley, a friend from high school, asked me to do a cake for her son's first birthday. The party theme was construction, so it was obvious to make a dump truck cake! I had just the idea! I was so excited to make this cake and my boyfriend was just as excited to see the outcome.
I made a 2 layer cake for the bottom and a 3 layer cake the truck. After carving the top tier into a truck shape, I used oreo cookies for the wheels and also for the dirt in the back on the dump truck and around the cake. I used butter cream icing and a few fondant decorations.
I also made a small smash cake with construction zone decorations.
