I think I say in each one of my blogs that I love doing each type of cake, but really I do. Each cake is fun in it's own way. Doing cute cartoon characters was sooo much fun for this cake.
My cousin's daughter's 3rd birthday party was themed "The Backyardigans". Not knowing much about them, I researched online and even watched a little bit of the show (how cute they are!).
The cake was iced in buttercream and the decorations were buttercream as well. I haven't mastered how to handle cakes in really high humidity, but I will soon need to figure that out. The characters were molded out of fondant and they were a great challenge that kept me busy for hours. I love how they turned out! I now know all of the Backyardigan characters and their theme song.
Is this a little stuffed toys of backyardigans? They look edible, or is it icing? Whatever it is, the cake is well baked and it is so cute!
